we’re back and thank God I had a good time but I was in Vegas for a week so we’re back we made it yeah how was the show for you Brett it was good man I really I really enjoy talking to people in our industry the you know there’s so many entrepreneurs there so many Hustlers so many people with good ideas that are out there trying to push to the next level hence the reason for the push marketing you know for the push company I should say push medals push medals who had a pretty awesome podcast Booth right I mean that’s Jeff Holmes thank you shout out for the shirt like War M Jeff but it’s in the toe it’s in our toe it’s on its way here but shout out to those guys anyone out there just still fighting the fight anyone out there pushing the envelope like Jeff and he’s out there podcasting put himself out there because he’s just himself that’s what people like people don’t want it everyone all buttoned up and boring they want there’s a there’s a certain sect of people that want that give it to
them if that’s you mhm but don’t you know what I mean like if that’s your style then do that you know if you’re not that style and you try and go that route you’re they’re people are going to see through you right you’re right and that works both ways too if you’re not that guy but you try to be punk rock but you’re more you know choir type of guy it’s going to be a tough sell you know but but but people need people like Opera just like they like punk rock y like it it takes all kinds and I think if you I heard it said if you got a unique enough story it finds its way M and tell it um so but to people on the marketing side the podcasting side they’re out there like trying to promote their business I think I mean at the end of the day if you don’t try how you going to know hence the ffo which which right here I don’t have a whole lot of these shirts left but if you want one hit me up I’ll see what I can do if
I get enough requests maybe we’ll make another run of them so you didn’t get one we hand it out about 200 they seem real popular the message tell everyone what that message means to you it might mean something to different to everyone else to me around and find out is how will you ever know what you’re capable of if you don’t try right and like whether that’s on the marketing side whether that’s on the business side whether that’s on your personal side if you’ve always wanted to run a marathon but you don’t know if you can then start walking and then start jogging and then start run a mile and then run two and then run five and then run 10 and then see if you got it in you right but it’s the same thing like we talk about on the marketing side is scrap is it’s it’s like a water it finds its way right the only way to get more scrap is to Dam the water somewhere like and the only way to Dam the water to Dam that River off and get to flow to you is to create enough
attention that people start recognizing you as the as the premier recycling company in your geography right that’s how you’re going to get a shake that’s how you but it takes attention it takes effort it takes marketing branding all the above and your willingness to put yourself out there and like truly around and find out what what’s possible that’s what it means to me and on the flip side of that I talked to so many people at the show that were like they own two to five yards and they wanted to grow so I said what are you doing for marketing not much I said okay well what’s your do you have competitors everyone of course I have competitors we all have competitors what are they doing for marketing not much that’s where I said well if you don’t if you around you will find out they might beat you yes you want to be the first or the last to it cuz if you’re not the first playing that catchup game is going to be a real you know it is and I and I preach that cuz I mean it and I believe
it cuz we’ve done it and whether you that means you use us or you use somebody else or use like the reality of it is like if do you want to see your your competitor take market share in any business demo business window making business like do you want to see your competitor your direct competitor take business from you if the answer is no then what are you doing about it and that’s what it is like if you’re not doing anything about it then that’s on you man cuz if you’re not doing anything about it and you’re upper level manager an owner who’s going to give a more than you so if you’re not like setting that bar yeah like what are you doing like if you’re not growing you’re dying so and if that’s and if you’re good to just stay here and slowly die to each their own you know yeah that’s fine but we’re not we’re not okay with that that’s why we’ve done what we’re doing and we’re trying to share it with people and like Brett said if it’s just yourself you’re using a different company just do something
doesn’t have to be with us but you got to push man got to do something okay markets we we had a a good week man yeah a copper everything’s looking coer ripped it hit 250 or 450 450 yeah yeah 450 it hit I mean I mean silver silver and gold came off today but then it silver ripped last week I mean Platinum Plum had a you know pretty healthy week and then it came off towards the end um aluminum stayed strong Nicholls above bucks now still and I mean it’s it’s going to be an interesting what Q2 right or to the finish line of Q2 we got another what two months so here we go I think I think it’s my firm belief is that it is an election year so it’s a super tricky economy which means there a lot of waves you know it’s a it’s an up and down and with it being you know an incumbent election year where there’s a chance to you know to add another four years to the existing then they’re not going to just let this thing go to hell in a handbasket mhm you
might buckle up for 2025 if there’s a big change at the top but even then like that’s when your best deals are found that’s when your most opportunities are sced up you know when everybody’s you know running for the running for the and that’s when your hands forced to be smarter like you should always run your business as most efficient as you can but when the economy is and the prices are it really does make you think well like could we save money here so I think our best times in you know have been in the shitty markets oh yeah we we we can honestly consciously sit back and say our best decisions that we made where when the market was crazy tough everybody was scared and we just shoved all of our chips to M like cuz that’s really kind of how we operate in general but it’s because we’re willing to bet on ourselves yeah and we continue to do so we’ll keep doing it and we’ll keep sharing with you if you guys do want a shirt hit me up hit breett up and anything else to share we’ll spend this
