## Podcast Transcript
**Host:** All right, how you doing Brett? How was the weekend?
**Brett:** It was good, man. My Friday—no, my Saturday, I’m sorry—my Saturday NFL picks were not great. They both were losers. Then I hit three in a row on Sunday, so this one will be the telltale sign. Did I get four out of six or did I go three for three?
**Host:** So you had Chargers and Steelers, right?
**Brett:** Yep, that’s the two, both of them. I split. I had one. Did you? And then I got the Bills, I got the Eagles, I did not get the Bucks. You got that. So I think we’re tied up.
**Host:** We’re tied. Do we both have—I got Vikings?
**Brett:** Oh, you got Rams. So, all right, we’re not going to be tied. I’m not betting you because every time I bet you I lose.
**Host:** Speaking about our bet, ER is above 4:30 today. A little late by about 13 days, yeah, but it did make it. We’re back above 4:30.
**Brett:** I thought there’d be a little more strength going into the end of the year. But, you know, CU is kind of thinly traded. I thought maybe something could pop in a good way, and it kind of went the other way on me. But you know what? I felt pretty good about the 430 number. Anything above 430 I thought was really reasonable. So, the story of my life by two weeks.
**Host:** So any good projections out there on any of the non-ferrous? Is everything looking strong in your world?
**Brett:** You know, I think ferrous is at least not going down, which I think is a positive. The pricing isn’t great out there. I think everybody’s just kind of in a holding pattern. There’s still just a lot of uncertainty. Probably a better word, but that’s hurting the ferrous export markets and the strength of the dollar. Domestically, the weather and now the fire stuff—I don’t know how much that affects what’s going on on the West Coast, but I’m sure in the short term it affects the flow. In the medium term, it’s going to create a lot of scrap, you know, just like any natural disaster does. It’s not the ideal way, but it does. It disrupts flow; it disrupts things.
**Host:** So maybe in the west, there might be a little more pickup and some opportunity and demand. But I don’t know. It still just feels like we’re kind of in that holding pattern to see what spring might bring. In a week from now, it’s the 20th. There’ll be a new administration. A lot of people are waiting for that to see how things roll out—patiently impatiently waiting for a change.
**Brett:** So next Metal Monday will be that day. It also happens to be the national title game.
**Host:** Yeah, which Notre Dame made it, that’s my team. It’s a big day, man. I mean, the national title game, Trump gets inaugurated, and the president gets into the office. Probably a slew of day-one executive orders are coming, and hopefully some positivity.
**Brett:** I think we’ll see some green next week.
**Host:** I think we’ll see some green even that Monday. I think we’ll see some green that week.
**Brett:** And I think we’ll see some green in the national title game as well.
**Host:** Oh, look at you now. You want to bet?
**Brett:** Yeah, I’ll bet that game. You want the spread?
**Host:** Yeah, of course, I’ll take the points—not of course. I mean, what is the points?
**Brett:** Nine and a half.
**Host:** Done deal.
**Brett:** All right.
**Host:** I’ll do a $100.
**Brett:** Jeez, I still owe you from the 100 from the CER. It’s a double or nothing.
**Host:** Double or nothing? I’m double or nothing till I either get ahead or get—eventually you’ll get it.
**Brett:** Right, no, I think Ohio State’s gonna get their ass—I think we’ll talk. I think they should, but we’ll talk about next Metal Monday.
**Host:** Yeah, we’ll see what—I think Irish got it this year.
**Brett:** I feel it. I’ve said that for the last 20 years though.
**Host:** Yeah, you and Ohio State since 200-whatever year last year they won it. 20, yeah.
**Brett:** We’ve lost the last two years. So a third year in a row losing is really going to mess with me. My brother-in-law is a huge Ohio State fan, which makes it 20 times worse.
**Host:** Yeah, man, I don’t know. I think there’s a lot of firepower that they’re going to have to deal with, but, uh, we’ll play that game later.
**Host:** All right, hope everybody has a great week and let’s go make it happen. Thank you, Brad. Thank you, everybody.
