all right it’s back it’s 2024 it’s not Wednesday it is actually Monday it’s actually Metal Monday on a Monday and it’s a lot of red so like things are like feeling kind of normal again Brett you didn’t get to four bucks man I know you were damn close though I don’t how close did we get three I think it was like 396 or five I thought you were going to get there man I thought it was headed there but now we’re you know we’re in the 380 range it’s really it’s almost tumbled down 20 cents back to yeah I mean it’s I think people were getting a little bit too optimistic maybe like on the stock market the Commodities and then I think you had all those which you still do but all those issues in the Red Sea which is creating container and and commodity shipping issues I mean it’s creating shipping issues across the board but obviously Commodities it’s a world trade you know material they they’re going they trading it all you know country to Country so if there’s if there’s Transportation you know via Ocean or SE then and

you got issues then you’re going to have Commodities issues that’s what was interesting to here at Justin last week thank you Justin for stepping in helping out it was really cool to see your perspective he’s down in Florida they running a shredder he manages a lot of material yeah you know so we hear his perspective and because we’re over here on the West Coast and I think going forward on Metal Monday we’re going to try to get more guests involved throughout the country maybe the first week of the month that would kind of make sense yeah I think it’s just you know any time you can get more people’s perspectives right I think is is a good thing and I think guys like Justin who are living in different markets than we are it’s good to just see what their thought process is you know I mean especially on Commodities pricing you know Transportation movement because it’s it’s all intertwined um one way or the other as far as pricing shipping Transportation um any of these basically strong what we would peree like strong consumers or you know volume consumers and they they’re having

issues and that affects export ability so but they felt a lot of dips over on the east on some pricing what did we fill over here for Ferris we have an updated people I think we’re it’s a pretty soft sideways which is a way of saying even if you’re down a couple bucks or up a couple bucks it’s kind of like a sideways is Market um and I think a lot of that’s attributed to the domestic markets having the ability to you know there’s no need for them to just go out and overpay the market if the export markets are limited right so if the export markets are limited then you’re going to have you know the domestic guys the ability you’re going to give them the ability to push the market down it goes back that’s what they do what we always say we need both to be strong to get some good pricing and hopefully some of the export stuff gets cleaned up we’ll see what happens and then maybe we have you know strong year but we’ll see so and I 100% understand like on the domestic side I mean just

like on the scrap side you’re going to pay what you need to pay to keep your customer and keep the material moving so if they have the ability to take you know some money out of the market especially in these very export Laden you know areas where like Florida right or the Gulf Coast like in the South or on the East Coast where they’re exporting a lot of material too right like they’re going to they’re not going to just leave a bunch of money on the table if they don’t have to um over here we’re you know we we have the ability to kind of go export or go domestic a lot of our material goes domestic those are the relationships we’ve made over the years um but things change and that’s one thing about this industry and and you’ll probably see in 2024 is changes yep yep everything always changes you have to adapt and we’ll see what you know we’ll see where the markets go we’ll see what happens we’ll see you know how the flow of scrap goes and how our manufacturers how they’re doing like they seem to be holding

fairly strong in our area which is nice to see you know but we’re in an election year and everyone’s you know kind of on their heels in election years you know so yeah but we’ll see what happens we’ll see time will tell here soon enough all you can do is control what you can control and and uh go from there if you do want to you know join our team and join Metal Monday once a month and kind of give your perspective in your area hit us up in the comments message me or Brett we’ll get you on we’d love to have you all right everybody have a great day thank you
