okay metal Friday I think we need to move it to Friday cuz it seems to be a lot Greener a lot happier on Friday we’re I’m stop we stop on Mondays like just it just kills maybe we move it we might take a v on that we’re put a poll out there if you want Metal Monday metal Friday or metal Wednesday yeah one of the three Wednesday’s a tough one but Friday or Monday could be be good but maybe we move talk about how maybe on Fridays you could talk about how the week went versus trying to predict how it’s going to go yeah then we can address what we saw all week so we saw copper start screaming Wednesday yeah and that’s because of what the news China I think for the most part I think China came out and they uh lowered their Reserve ratio on their Banks which is a like a way of stimulating the economy and people are anticipating I mean the Chinese stock marks has been getting crushed so they you know I think they had you know kind of announced a surprise quote unquote surprise stimulus

where they’re you know going to they’re going to the old school play book of investing in their infrastructure which is pouring money into their economy um and you know but obviously on the the the required Reserve ratio whatever that is um allows people to borrow against less money essentially okay so which is good for can be good on the commodity side you know allows people to maybe make a heavier bet on different Commodities so I think that was a positive sign for the you know for the base medals um I think that was the probably one of the bigger drivers and we’ll see I mean you’re at 386 copper this morning which is still not bad I think it got up to it got I think it pushed 390 right it got to 390 at some point it got to 390 so we’re still which is good we didn’t lose a lot of gas off that and so you know depends on how this this Market goes I feel like this week has been fairly positive for you know base Metals um aluminum still feels to be fairly strong you know at least from

a demand perspective which is good um and feris Market I think that it could potentially be off but because of Supply disruptions weather and just what’s everything that’s going on I don’t know that you’re going to see as big of a maybe anticipated dip as what what could could happen maybe the market comes off off a little bit maybe doesn’t but I I think there’s even some people predicting that there could be some upside to it now it depends on your region depends on the commodity depends on you know or the grade but but but I still think like Supply is a big problem and whether it’s Supply because of weather Supply because a lack of manufacturing Supply because a lack of demolition um maybe all the above probably a mixture of all three you know I mean we’re we’re starting to feel the effects really of you know lack of car production for a couple of years so you’re there’s less you know there crushing less cars you’re processing less cars which is being felt in the converter Market um so you’re seeing you know less converters being processed which is going to

play it’s going to create some havoc on the on the PGM side I think you know so I think 2024 really could be fairly positive on the PGM side too if things you know play out cuz at some point you turn the production back on if you the interest rates are still high which less people or people are driving their cars longer so there’s just there’s just kind of a lot of kind of forces working against scrap flow there’s so much more to it than it just meets the eye and that’s what’s very interesting that’s what we hope we can dive into and understand more and share with everybody so that everyone else understands it more that’s where we’re open to having more and more guests that maybe understand it better than us there’s so many people out there that understand it better than us which is why we do so much podcasting right like the goal of doing a podcast isn’t so I can get on there and tell you how much I know the goal for us doing podcast is so we can get smart people and ask them questions right a

I want to know like the origin of your story like I’m always curious like how’d you get in the business and why are you passionate about it right but B I’m like they there’s a reason why they’re in that position they know something that that I don’t know which generally they probably know a lot of that I don’t know and so I want to be able to like pick the brains of people that are smarter or have done more or have done something different that know things that I don’t know and I think that’s why we do podcasts other than this one with you you and me just two dummies talking about what we see in Idaho we get friendly banter everyone loves it um that leads us right into we just spent a a week part of a week up down in Houston we made our way over to Louisiana up to Alabama we did some awesome podcasts I’m really excited to share them we did we did three or four in Houston we did one in Louisiana one in Alabama and we I learned a lot just sitting there listening and I

learned a ton and that’s what I love about just traveling in general we’ve been traveling for a long time before we carried cameras with us yeah and I always learned so something on a trip you know and that’s where there’s so much value to connect to network and our network has just continue to grow because of what we do on social media absolutely absolutely and it’s and it just helps us connect with like-minded individuals that that are in you know the same kind of industry they may operate differently than us they may you know sell into different markets than us they may you know be you know be a different part of the the the industry than us whether they’re you know like our our buddies down at shareworks who are on the the feris processing side right they don’t own scrapyards but they do process more scrap than most scrapyards right and then you got I mean we were able to sit down with the folks at Colt and talk about Tire processing tire recycling we sat down with a steel mill and talked about you know how is their purchasing going

to look differently now they’re putting an eaf furnace in we talked to you know K&L in Texas who’s got you know eight nine yards who do things you know so it’s just like it’s just such a like crazy amount of information and different ways people are attacking the industry that I mean I wouldn’t trade it for the world man that’s awesome we’ll start sharing sharing those come February and I’m excited to share them with everybody yeah we got some fire coming we got some fireworks coming so and we’re going to have a whole I mean we’re going to go back on the road here soon and knock down some more podcast so we’re looking forward to the the tour continues in 2024 if you want to be on it reach out reach out see we squeeze you in we want want to meet more friends all right thanks have a great weekend everybody
