all right Metal Monday we’re into February we are we’re going man we’re already through January which is crazy and you know we’ve got some weird weather over here really weird weather the freaking wind it was spring last week over here in Idaho and it it wases like 14 to anywhere from 14 to like 17 degrees above average yeah like every day for a week and some change so the weather was teasing us that spring was around the corner but those of us idah hoens that have been here our whole lives we know better I know we’re going to have snow in April that’s what I know is going to happen now everybody is like oh man we’re be done with winter I’m like uhuh yeah it’s it’s it’s going to be uh we still got all of February that could be you know any anything March you know it starts to warm up a little bit but it still ain’t warm by any stretch of imagination so you know good thing February is a a short month although I think it’s a 29 day month this year yeah leap year we got the

extra extra day so for all you scrap uh sellers out there deliverers you’ve got an extra day to to tuck in some tons this month that you normally don’t have at least only every every fourth year I’ll say this the weather the good weather had the yards a little busier we’re not you know like anything to set records on yeah but our yards were busier you know at least in our area that’s a good sign the little more flow into the yard hopefully get a little more volume because it’s been some rough months December January I mean we didn’t see a whole lot of flow the weather was truly winter in December January uh we’ll see where it goes so Ferris we’re into February are we still holding seeing sideways yeah near as I can tell at least for us over here um I think the only thing probably holding it that way is just lack of flow lack of Supply on the you know scrap side I feel like the demand is you know off is somewhat waning you know maybe on the steel mill side shredders are hungry so they’re they may

not necessarily love that they you know can’t take the market down but they also I think if they feel like if they do over at least over here then whatever little amount of Supply they have now is going to kind of dwindle even more so I think at least for now I haven’t heard anything you know that doesn’t stop any mid-mon drops or it doesn’t stop any uh you know whatever the case may be if people get you know nervous about this Market but this could just be one of those this those years man where it’s just you know not a lot of volatility up or down you know fives and tens either direction and just I mean we’ll see um which it’s nice to have some consistency it’s nice to not see huge I love to see the huge UPS like everyone but I also know when you see that huge up at 20 $30 up you’re going to typically see a 30 $40 down here coming soon that knife always cuts both ways yeah yeah you’re seeing it with copper right now like you saw copper kind of run and then

it you know come back down s that 380 range yeah I think 378 through 77 you know I think is what we’re what we’re looking at today um but it wasn’t just you know a week ago is 392 right so I think it’s we’re kind of in a trading range just like we are on the fer side right now so it’s just kind of a matter picking and choosing your spots and trying to you know if you’ve got material to move then you’re probably in a better position than some because I still feel you know the good thing is I will say this as as someone that’s been doing this for a little bit even though there’s people out there that are significantly more experienced than me um I’m still getting calls messages DMS daily people that I have done business with people I’ve never done business with that are trying to buy scrap so until those calls messages stop coming in then at least you know there’s a market for the stuff right and I think that’s a that’s a positive there’s still demand out there um it’s just you know I think

the material is short it’s in short supply across all Commodities do you feel like there’s even more demand because there’s short supply right now is that why you get hit up more well I feel like people are trying to you know they either got orders they’ve got to fill or commitments that they’ve made that they’re trying to you know put together um and you know I think this isn’t just one one person you know one company feeling the lack of Supply I think it’s a uh it’s an industry thing right now I mean unless you just have you know some kind of consistent gig or you’re doing a big demo job or something out of the norm but it’s just your daytoday flow in general is probably defin Ely um off you know and I said anywhere from 20 to 35% easily right depending on oh yeah your region so that that that creates its own set of challenges like even on the on the yard side the facility side let alone on the buyer side The Brokerage side um I think that’s a that’s another set of challenges as well let’s shift topics

Super Bowl y who you got who do I want or who do I think who both the Chiefs are what like a two and a half Point dog they were last week I haven’t checked this week yeah I think I would take the Chiefs I would like to see the 49ers win because I hate the Chiefs okay I’m a Raiders fan dude and as a true blue Raiders fan we would be kicked out of the club if we cheered for the Chiefs and I like being in the club and I’m a Raiders fan and I don’t like the Chiefs so you’re going for the Niners yes you want better sixpack I’m going for the Niners but I believe the Chiefs will win I know you is a six-pack let’s bet a six-pack I got the Chiefs just you got the Chiefs yeah I don’t need the points just who wins no points well I love yeah I’m down like a six pack of tall boys okay you got it like you know the the how about the 18 the 18 pack of 16 o okay so it’s like isn’t that what it
